Paul Scholes a step closer to start his managing career after being interviewed by his dream club
Manchester United legendary midfielder Paul Scholes will be forever remembered as one of the greatest midfielders to ever play in the Premier League.
And now Scholes has moved a step closer to start his managing career as he has given the first interview.
For which club? Oldham Athletic.
The former England international has been linked with the job since 2015, but back then he said that he’s not ready for the management pressure.
“One day I believe I’ll manage Oldham, who are very close to my heart,” he said. “This was the right job at the wrong time.
“They are a really good family club who mean a great deal to a lot of people – myself included. I just did not feel this was the right time.
“When I go into management, I want to do so with 100% commitment. At the moment I have a lot of responsibilities and things going on in my life that I cannot simply drop immediately.
“Most importantly I have a young family who need their dad around, having been away a lot during my playing career.
“There was no way, for example, I would ever have tried to combine a coaching job with my work on television.”
However, now he can achieve his dream to manage a football club, with Oldham going through a difficult time in League One currently.
They are 19’th and facing relegation, but Scholes will try to save them from that. //Actuantes//
