Italy and AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini ended his first match as a professional tennis player with defeat.
The 49-year-old doubled in partnership with Stefano Landonio and suffered the defeat in Milan ATP Challenge Tour – which is one tier below the top-level ATP World Tour.
In the Aspira Tennis Cup, Maldini lost to Tomasz Benarek and David Pel 6-1, 6-1 after just 42 minutes.
Maldini, however, did pull some great winners to secure his first game of the match (watch at 4:50).
In one of the longest rallies of the tie (6:18) Maldini and his partner look to have the upper hand with both opponents at the back of the court, only for the Italian to produce a poor lob to give a simple winning smash. //Actuantes//
