It’s been more than a year since Santi Cazorla last played for Arsenal, to be more precise – last October in the Gunners’ 6-0 win against Ludogorets in the Champions League.
He suffered an Achilles injury, and according to Sky Sports, he suffered a serious blood infection during the recovery process, which could have cost him with lost of his leg.
But luckily it all ended up good for him, with the doctors telling him at one point that he would be lucky to even walk again.
He told Marca this week: “If you manage to walk with your son again in the garden, be satisfied, they told me.
“At that time I was still playing, they told me it was OK, the problem was that it did not heal and the wounds would reopen, become infected. In pictures, I can see the tendon.
“He (the doctor) saw that I had a tremendous infection, that I had damaged part of the calcaneus bone and the infection ate the Achilles tendon. I had eight centimetres missing.
“I do not have a specific plan until January, but I will come back by then.”
His return is expected to happen at the beginning of 2018.
However, we thought it’s the perfect time to remember one of his best performances in an Arsenal shirt, which came in January 2015 in the 2-0 win away against Manchester City.
The Spanish midfielder scored from the penalty spot and also assisted for Olivier Giroud’s header.
In the video below, you can see how he totally dominated the midfield in that match. //Actuantes//
