Liverpool have reportedly agreed to sign Schalke midfielder Leon Groetzka in January.
The player has opted for a move to The Reds instead of Barcelona, always according to the Spanish outlet Don Balon.
The 22-year-old was linked with a move away during the summer, and now the Germany international has agreed to join the Merseyside club during the winter transfer window.
Arsenal and Tottenham were also interested in the player, but now things have taken an unexpected turn.
That’s because according to the same report, Liverpool have won the race, and Groetzka is expected to join Jurgen Klopp’s side in January.
Liverpool fans will be happy to know that the club has reached an agreement with one of Europe’s hottest prospects, but also will be wary that his arrival could mean Philippe Coutinho leaving the club.
The Brazilian winger was subject of three offers from Barcelona during the summer, but Liverpool insisted he’s not for sale.
It is said that the Catalans will make a 133million pounds offer for him in January, which is expected to seriously test the Reds stance. //Actuantes//
