Liverpool is close to sealing a deal with Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk.
Irish outlets are reporting that Liverpool have made a huge step towards signing Van Dijk, and the player’s has been given the green light to negotiate.
The parties are close to reaching an agreement for a huge fee.
According to Irish Inipendente, the Reds are expected to close the deal for 70million pounds.
If the transfer materialises it would be a club record signing for Liverpool by far.
That’s because the current record signing for the Anfield side is Mohamed Salah who joined them last summer for 36million pounds, while Naby Keita will join next summer for 48million pounds.
Van Dijk has been left out of the Southampton squad for 1-1 draw against Huddersfield, the second match he’s missing.
The defence has been Achilles heel for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is aware of it. //Actuantes//
