Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane says he’s happy with the 2-2 draw against Numancia.
Real Madrid registered another disappointed draw, but Zidane has kept faith in the squad.
‘I just go game to game, year to year,’ said Zidane. ‘I cannot think two or three years down the line, as I know how it is here, even having a contract, which means nothing.
‘It is not easy for the players who play less. We played a good game. We maybe lacked a bit of gas at the end.
‘I am happy with what the players did. The pity is the goal before half-time, and also a goal at the end. But apart from that we had a good game, and they did what they had to do.’
After Real’s early flourishing since Zidane’s appointment in January 2016, where Zidane has led his side to back-to-back Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup crowns, as well as the La Liga title, it seems Los Blancos have hit a blip in their brief period of dominance.
Real are worlds adrift of their El Clasico rivals Barcelona, who top the La Liga tree by nine points and sit 16 clear of Zidane’s struggling Real. //Actuantes//
