A UEFA Champions League winner is reportedly in talks with Chelsea over the possibility of replacing Antonio Conte.
According to the Daily Star, former FC Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is topping the Blues’ shortlist of tacticians who could replace the Italian in the club’s hot seat.
Conte has cut a frustrated figure this season as he feels he has not received the right backing from his board when it has come to transfer dealings.
The former Juventus boss has publicly voiced his dissatisfaction on numerous occasions, and also blamed a few results on the lack of investment provided to him.
The Chelsea boardroom is believed to be tired of the former Italy manager’s excuses, and have contacted Enrique’s representatives over a possible move.
The 46-year-old Spaniard is said to be ready to return to management after taking a year off, but is apparently in no rush to jump at the first job available to him.
The Stamford Bridge side could face stiff competition for Enrique’s signature at the end of the season as he has also been heavily linked with North London side Arsenal.
Some believe the former Blaugrana boss would prefer a move to the Gunners as he apparently thinks they treat their coaches better than Chelsea do.
