Ernesto Valverde is aware of the importance of Sergio Busquets in the Barcelona team and says he hopes to have him back for the game against Roma on Wednesday.
Busquets has not yet returned to full training and will miss Saturday’s trip to Sevilla but could come into contention for the game against Roma at Camp Nou.
“We hope that Sergio’s ready for Roma,” was the message from Valverde in a press conference at the club’s training ground on Friday.
“He has still not worked with the group, but we hope he will be back. We think he will be.”
Busquets has been a key part in the Barça side for the last decade, first under Pep Guardiola and then under Tito Vilanova, Tata Martino and Luis Enrique.
Nothing has changed under Valverde and the 29-year-old remains key to Barça’s success.
