FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi equalled a 68-year-old record after scoring in the club’s 5-0 win over Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final.
The Catalan giants secured their title of the campaign after thumping Sevilla on Saturday evening.
Messi got on the scoresheet and became only the second player to score in five Copa del Rey finals.
Legendary Spanish striker Telmo Zarra was the first player to achieve this first after scoring in the in the 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1950 finals.
Following Saturday night’s goal against Sevilla, Messi has now scored in the 2009, 2012, 2015, 2017 and 2018 finals.
