Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has claimed that superstar Neymar has not yet adjusted to life in France, amid speculation the player could be on his way to Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has often been linked with Los Blancos in recent months, and after spending a lot of time recovering from an injury in Brazil, many have claimed he is not entirely happy in Paris.
Neymar was also criticised for not being present for PSG’s title celebrations in April, and boss Emery has now claimed the 26-year-old has not yet adapted to his new surroundings following his world record move from FC Barcelona in August 2017.
“He goes to his house and shuts himself off,” he told SFR Sport.
“He’s not there every day, but he’s not yet immersed himself 100% in Paris, the French league, the difficulties, the different football.
“It’s all a process, and at PSG we have been integrating him into the group, where we want him to feel welcome.
“He has to be patient, we’ve done 50% of the work with him, the other 50% is missing at the moment.”
Neymar, who is unlikely to be back to full fitness before the season ends, has scored 28 goals and created a further 19 strikes in 30 matches for the French giants since his arrival at the club.
