Manchester City’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero has been linked with a return to LaLiga, and Pep Guardiola has now responded to those reports.
The Argentine forward has bagged 30 goals across all competitions this season, although he is currently nursing a knee injury.
Reports emerging from Spain claim that Atletico Madrid could look to bring Aguero back to the club as a replacement for Antoine Griezmann, but Guardiola insists the striker is going nowhere.
“I think it is not going to happen. My desire is it is not going to happen,” Guardiola told reporters, according to FourFourTwo,
“Last season it happened many times in this press conference and I said a thousand times – Sergio is going to stay until he decides ‘my time here is over’.
“That is why I say it is not going to happen. But in football you never know.”
