Levante 5-4 Barcelona: Player ratings

FC Barcelona’s unbeaten record in LaLiga finally came to an end as they lost 5-4 to Levante, with an African star netting a hat-trick in the process.
 
Ernesto Valverde opted to leave Lionel Messi out of the match day squad, as Ousmane Dembele joined Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez in attack.
 
It was the hosts who broke the deadlock after just nine minutes as Emmanuel Boateng connected with Jose Luis Morales’ cross and bundled the ball home.
 
Levante nearly doubled their lead two minutes later as Bardhi smashed the ball against the upright from close range.
 
The lead was eventually doubled on 30 minutes as Boateng completed his brace by holding off the challenge from Nelson Semedo before rolling the ball past Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.
 
Barca did managed to pull a goal back five minutes before the break as Coutinho found space on the edge of the box and curled the ball, 1-2.
 
Levante bagged a third goal with a first attack of the second half as Bardhi found the back of the net with a fine strike into the top corner.
 
Three minutes later, the hosts bagged a fourth goal Boateng completed his hat-trick by with a close range finish after latching onto a pass from Luna.
 
The hosts’ fifth goal arrived in the 56th minute as Bardhi bagged his second with a fine curling finish from the egde of the box.
 
Barca reduced the deficit two minutes later when Dembele’s strike deflected into the path of Coutinho, who made no mistake from six-yards out.
 
Coutinho reduced the deficit once again in the 64 minute, completing his hat-trick with a wonderful strike into the far corner.
 
Barca were then awarded a penalty on 70 minutes when Sergio Busquets was brought down in the box. Luis Suarez stepped up and converted the spot-kick to bring his side to within one goal.
 
The Catalan giants threw numbers forward in search of an equaliser, while Suarez continued to be a threat in the final 15 minutes.
 
Rubén Rochina should have added a sixth goal for Levante in the 90th minute but he fired wide of the upright with the net gaping.
 
Nevertheless, Levante managed to see out the closing stages to claim a famous and end Barca’s unbeaten run/
