Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United will reportedly announce a star signing after their FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.
According to The Times, the Red Devils are close to securing the services of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro.
The Brazilian, who was snubbed for the Selecao’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, has been a target of United’s for a while, and will reportedly be their first signing ahead of next season.
Mourinho has been looking to bring in a left-back since last season following his very public dispute with young English fullback Luke Shaw.
The former Southampton man has struggled under the Portuguese manager, despite showing promise early on in his United career.
Mourinho has criticised Shaw’s mentality on a couple of occasions over the past two years, but the boss has now reportedly found the Englishman’s replacement.
Sandro is expected to cost United about £50 million (R838 million), which may be clever business as his transfer value is unlikely to rise given his World Cup snub.
The club will reportedly announce their agreement with Juventus and Sandro after the FA Cup final on Saturday.
The left-back contributed to 10 goals in 38 games for the Bianconeri in 2017/18, whom he joined from Porto in 2015.
