An FC Barcelona legend has stated what he believes Brazilian superstar Neymar needs to do to ensure he gets closer to winning the Ballon d’Or.
The 26-year-old, who is currently the most expensive player in the world, left the Blaugrana at the beginning of this season to join Paris-Saint Germain, but has since been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Barca legend Rivaldo, who won the Ballon d’Or himself in 1999, has now insisted that Neymar should consider moving to Los Blancos or the Premier League to improve his chances of winning the prestigious award.
“I think that going to Real Madrid, or to some club in England, I think he will have more chances (of winning the Ballon d’Or),” Rivaldo told Sky Sports.
“I mean no offence, but we know that the French league is not the same as the Spanish or English league, where there’s more difficulty.
“I think he (Neymar) would have more chances to win the Champions League, so… when a player wins the Champions League, he has more chances of being the best in the world.”
Neymar made 30 appearances for PSG in the 2017/18 campaign, scoring 28 goals and assisting a further 19 strikes.
