Premier League outfit Chelsea are reportedly in advanced talks with an African star who has also been linked with Manchester United.
According to RTL, the Blues are chasing Nice midfielder and Ivory Coast international Jean Michael Seri’s signature.
It has been suggested that negotiations are quite far along already, with Chelsea hoping they can get the deal over the line in the coming weeks.
Seri is said to be keen on joining the Stamford Bridge side, despite there being doubts over the managerial situation at the club.
There are rumours that Antonio Conte could leave the 2016/17 Premier League champions in this window, and there has been speculation that either Laurent Blanc or Luis Enrique could take over from him.
Chelsea may face a stumbling block, though – Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are also said to be interested in the midfielder and could counter the English club’s offer.
The 26-year-old made 43 appearances for Nice in the 2017/18 campaign, scoring two goals and assisting 10 further strikes.
