Ruben Lotfus-Cheek starred in the middle of park for England against Costa Rica on Thursday night.
Gareth Southgate rang the changes following the victory against Nigeria at Wembley Stadium, by selecting the likes of Marcus Rashford, Fabian Delph, among others.
Rashford scored the opening goal of the game courtesy of a sublime strike, while Delph produced an impressive performance from midfield.
While the Manchester United starlet was named ‘Man of the Match’, Loftus-Cheek got everyone talking for his outing which included a 100% pass completion rate.
The 22-year-old fitted in perfectly in England’s 3-5-2 formation. The same set-up at Chelsea.
Loftus-Cheek enjoyed a spell away from Stamford Bridge last season by spending the campaign at Crystal Palace where he played regular games under Roy Hodgson.
He eventually came off in the 79th minute with an assist in the bag, while potentially leaving Southgate with a selection headache ahead of England’s opening World Cup game versus Tunisia.
And a quick glance on Twitter suggests England fans want him to start.
