FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi openly admitted he wanted Antoine Griezmann at the Catalan club, but after that deal fell through, he has reportedly turned his attention to a Manchester United superstar.
It has been claimed that the Argentina talisman has a huge say in who Barca targets in transfer windows, though that rumour has also been dispelled by journalists close to the club.
However, Messi did not hide his opinion on Griezmann when the Blaugrana were after the Atletico Madrid player, though that deal has subsequently been called off due to the player committing himself to his club.
According to Italian publication Calciomercato, the new Barca captain would like to see his club chase Paul Pogba’s signature, as he is a big fan of the Frenchman.
The midfielder has previously admitted that Messi is one his footballing idols, saying in 2015 that he would love to play with the Argentine one day.
The United man has also endured a difficult two seasons since returning to the club from Juventus, while his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is not believed to be great.
Barca midfielder Paulinho has been heavily linked with a move back to China, and the club will perhaps look to replace him with United’s 25-year-old star.
