Paris Saint-Germain and Brazil right-back Dani Alves has had his say regarding Neymar’s future at the Parc des Princes, amid rumours linking the attacker with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The Brazilian forward, who joined the Ligue 1 giants for a world-record fee of €222 million (R3.5 billion) last season, has been linked with a return to LaLiga ever since his arrival in France, but this time with Los Blancos.
Neymar is believed to have been identified as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his club and national teammate Alves hopes the 26-year-old will stay in Paris because he is yet to achieve what he set out to do with PSG.
“I hope that Neymar will stay,” Alves said, as quoted by Sky Sports Italia.
“He still has a lot to give PSG. The fact that the objectives set in his first season in Paris were not achieved should not push him to quit.
“Opportunities to leave should only be considered when objectives have been met. For the moment, Neymar’s PSG mission is incomplete.
Neymar, who was named the 2017/18 Ligue 1 Player of the Season, made 30 appearances for PSG in his first campaign with the club, scoring 28 goals and assisting a further 18 strikes.
