It has been claimed that one of the deadliest strikers in world football still has his heart set on joining Spanish giants Real Madrid in this transfer window.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus earlier this month, Los Blancos have been linked with a host of reinforcements ahead of the new season.
One of those players is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who reportedly still wants to join the Spanish giants before the window closes.
According to Marca, the Polish forward continues to dream of donning Real’s famous white strip, although Bayern remain reluctant to let him leave.
The German champions want Lewandowski to honour the contract he has with the club, which expires in 2021, although they are said to be aware of his wishes.
Bayern chairman Uli Hoeness has also reportedly told the striker he will not be sold in this window, with new manager Niko Kovac considering him an important member of his squad for the 2018/19 season.
Lewandowski has played 195 matches for Bayern since his arrival at the club from Borussia Dortmund in 2014, scoring 151 goals and assisting a further 35 strikes.
