Luka Modric looks set to remain with Real Madrid and is reportedly going to sign a new deal that could make him one of the highest paid players at the club.
The Croatia international has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A outfit Inter Milan.
According to Spanish publication Marca, the 32-year-old will remain at Los Blancos and will receive an improved wage in a new deal.
Modric is believed to be earning £180 000 a week at the moment, but the same report claims he will now be on par with Sergio Ramos who reportedly earns £200 000 a week.
Former Croatia international, Robert Jarni , claims Real would never sell Modric as they would struggle to find a replacement.
“We know what the market is like,” he told Cadena SER. “I did not believe in the voices [that said he would leave].
“I know he likes Madrid a lot and the club does not have a player who can replace him.”
