Cristiano Ronaldo’s son, Cristiano Jr, has already shown glimpses of his famous father’s genes running strongly through his veins, and the Juventus superstar has now revealed he would like the youngster to follow in his footsteps on the pitch.
His oldest son Cristiano Jr, who turned eight in June, already has many admirers after a number of videos of him scoring goals made the rounds on social media over the past couple of years.
Ronaldo himself has now explained that he would like his son to become a footballer too, although he will not force him to follow his path if he does not want to.
“He’s very competitive. He’s like me as a child. He doesn’t like losing,” the Juventus attacker told DAZN after being announced as the new global ambassador for the online streaming platform.
“He’ll become like me, I’m 100% sure of it. I’d like to teach him some things, but ultimately he will choose what to do and he’ll always have my support.
“But, of course, I’d like him to become a player because I think he has a passion for it too.”
He also spoke about his own ambitions with his new club this season, saying he wants to add yet more silverware to his trophy cabinet.
“I want to win the Champions League with Juventus,” Ronaldo added.
“We’ll focus on that, with my teammates, but without obsessing over it. We’ll go step by step and then we’ll see: if it’s this year, next year or the year after that…
“The objective for the club is to win the League, Coppa Italia and, of course, do our best in the Champions League.”
Ronaldo drew a blank on his Juventus debut, but will have the opportunity to score his first goal for the Serie A champions when the Bianconeri host Lazio in their next game on Saturday.
