A Chelsea star, who used play for Real Madrid, appears to have taken a dig at his former coach Antonio Conte when he was asked to explain the difference between his former Juventus boss and new coach, Maurizio Sarri.
After coming off an inconsistent season, Spain international Alvaro Morata hopes that this Premier League campaign will be different and insists he is enjoying his football under his new manager.
The striker admitted that he was not a massive fan of the Blues playing style last season and feels the Sarri’s new approach suits him and his teammates a lot more.
“The most important thing is the way we play now. Last season it was direct balls and for me to protect the ball in the air is not my strongest quality,” Morata said, according to Sport.
“Now I can attack the space, I can play one touch and go into the area for the crosses. It’s better for me. Sarri always works with the ball and when you always have the ball the strikers will have more chances.”
Morata has made 51 appearances for the Blues until now, scoring 16 goals and assisting in a further six strikes.
