Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly in the process of bringing yet another former player back to the Santiago Bernabeu following the recent return to the club of Mariano Diaz.
Diaz has returned to the Santiago Bernabeu after Real activated their buyback clause for the striker, who scored 21 goals in 48 appearances during his one season at Olympique Lyon.
According to AS, Los Blancos are planning to make a move for Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso, who spent 11 seasons in Real’s academy.
It has been claimed that Hermoso, 23, could come in as a replacement for Jesus Vallejo, who is said to be nearing a loan move to Real Sociedad.
The Spanish giants reportedly have a buy-back option on Hermoso, which Real can activate if his £13 million (R24.9 million) fee is triggered.
The centre-back, who can also play left-back, played 33 matches for Real’s Castilla side before moving to Espanyol, and spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Real Valladolid.
Hermoso has appeared only 24 times in LaLiga so far, but has been impressive since establishing himself at senior level.
