A former Real Madrid forward has revealed that he believes FC Barcelona’s Luis Suarez and AC Milan’s Gonzalo Higuain are both better strikers than Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
Former Italy international Antonio Cassano was once considered among the best attackers in Europe, although his time at Los Blancos was not filled with glory.
The 36-year-old believes that, while Ronaldo is a great player in his own right, Suarez and Higuain – who is currently on loan at Milan from the Bianconeri – are better centre forwards than the Portuguese is.
“Gonzalo Higuain? Well, he is an amazing striker,” Cassano told Sky Sports.
“I played with him at Real Madrid and you could clearly see his goalscoring talents.
“Ronaldo is a great player, Edin Dzeko is also a really good striker, but, for me, Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez are the two best strikers in the world.”
Higuain, 30, has scored six goals in seven matches for the Rossoneri so far this season, while Suarez has found the back of the net just three times in 11 games thus far, and Ronaldo has struck four times in nine matches for his new club in Italy.
