The 19-year-old scored four goals in PSG’s 5-0 win over Olympique Lyon on the weekend, and also made the shortlist for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
His France teammate Antoine Griezmann, who is also among the 30 nominees for the 2018 Golden Ball, has now insisted the speedy winger reminds him of a young Ronaldo.
“Kylian reminds me of Cristiano when he was in Manchester,” the Atletico Madrid superstar told France Football.
“Cristiano was the guy out wide, doing a lot of dribbling and occasionally scoring. He was not looking for goals, though.
“When Kylian does what Cristiano did in Madrid, thinking only about scoring, then he will do the same. He will be scoring 50 goals per season.”
Griezmann, though, also insisted Mbappe needs to become more clinical in order to join the elite bracket of players.
“In front of goal in training, Kylian is not all that,” he added.
“I tease him often – I ask him how he manages to score so many goals. When we do finishing drills, he never wins.
“As soon as he changes that, though, he will be a force to be reckoned with.”
Mbappe currently sits in joint-second spot among Europe’s top league goalscorers, and has scored 31 goals and assisted another 19 strikes since joining PSG last season.
