Robbie Fowler gives his opinion on Mohamed Salah at Liverpool this season

How do you follow up scoring 44 goals in your debut season at your new club?

Well, that was the situation Mohamed Salah faced at Liverpool this summer.

The Egyptian had the perfect season on a personal level after his £37 million move from Roma, although his injury in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid ended it on a sour note.

And it seems Salah might still have that shoulder injury on his mind.

He suffered a disastrous World Cup in which he battled with the Egyptian Football Association over his image rights – while his country lost all three of their group games.

Back to Liverpool and Salah has managed just three goals in his opening 11 appearances in all competitions, with many fans and pundits questioning his form right now.

But one man that isn’t concerned about Salah’s form is club legend Robbie Fowler.

Salah has struggled this season

Fowler has scored 183 goals for the club over two spells and he’s convinced the goals will start flowing once again for Salah.

“I’m not saying he’s having a bad year so far. He’s still a good player, he’s still an excellent player but to replicate what he did last year will be unbelievable,” Fowler told Sky Sports News.

“I think he’ll still score goals, I think he’ll still score a lot of goals.Fowler isn't worried about Salah

“What I like about Mo Salah is that his work ethic is brilliant, he doesn’t shy away from anything. What I would be more worried about is if he wasn’t getting chances.

“He will bang the goals in. I’m not sure he’ll hit the heights he did last year but he is still a magnificent player. He will still be a danger throughout the Premier League [season].”

Without Salah firing on all cylinders, Liverpool are still level on points at the top of the Premier League with Manchester City and Chelsea having not lost a game.
