Milan Skriniar showed every defender how to handle Philippe Coutinho during Inter loss

Barcelona extended their 100% start in the Champions League with victory over Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

There were concerns that the Blaugrana could struggle without the newly injured Lionel Messi and their Italian opponents had impressed with victories over Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven.

Rafinha broke the deadlock during the first-half, beating Samir Handanovic from close range after an incredible delivery from Luis Suarez.

However, it wasn’t until the close stages that Barcelona sealed the victory with both goalkeepers required to make crucial saves.

With seven minutes left on the clock, Barcelona flexed their muscles and Jordi Alba found the net superbly on his 50th appearance European appearance for the club.

Yet it could have been so much more for the home team and Philippe Coutinho will certainly feel aggrieved he didn’t write his name on the scoresheet.

The Brazilian has notched up 14 goals in 35 appearances since leaving Liverpool and came inches from adding to his tally, striking the crossbar in the second-half.

Sport gave him a 6/10 for his overall performance, noting: “Doesn’t always get involved in the play as much as Barcelona would like, but when he does he shows a lot of quality with his contributions.”

Aside from coming close to scoring, though, it was one particular moment on the left wing that attracted attention on Twitter after the match.

A clip has emerged of Coutinho trying to skill his way past Milan Skriniar, only to fail spectacularly and lose the ball on no less than two occasions.

In fact, the Inter man’s defending was so good that Coutinho ended up on his backside as opposed to flooring his opponent as he intended.

It was practically a tutorial in how to deal with the Barcelona man – check it out below:
