Neymar left three Marseille players for dead with super trickery in Le Classique win

Paris Saint-Germain overcame their biggest test of the 2018-19 domestic season so far as they beat Marseille 2-0 away from home in Le Classique.

The Orange Velodrome, which houses over 67,000 people, is known for its menacing atmosphere and the passionate Marseille fans are as hostile as they come.

Flares were already lit outside the stadium before kick-off, and during it, both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe had foreign objects thrown at them.

However, PSG’s two attackers had the last laugh, with Mbappe scoring the opener three minutes after coming on and Neymar assisting Julian Draxler’s 95th-minute settler.

The world’s most expensive footballer grew into the contest and there was one moment where he left three opposition players in a daze with supreme skill.

NEYMAR HELPS PARIS CONTINUE STRONG START

Paris may have failed to beat Liverpool and Napoli in the Champions League, but Sunday’s win means they’ve won all 11 of their Ligue 1 matches this term.

Thomas Tuchel’s men have been so dominant that Marseille are actually the first French club to stop them from scoring three goals or more against them.

The PSG manager deployed a 3-4-3 system in Marseille, with Angel di Maria and Neymar supporting surprise summer signing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Neymar, along with Mbappe when he was introduced, was at the heart of most of his team’s best moves, including a superb individual effort in the second-half.
