Video shows the role Roberto Firmino has been playing this season for Liverpool

Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League, behind Manchester City only on goal difference and top of their Champions League Group of Death.

And yet there’s a belief that Jurgen Klopp’s side aren’t quite clicking right now.

The Reds may have won eight of their 10 league matches to date, but they haven’t exactly been convincing.

They could only manage victories by a single goal against Brighton, Leicester and Huddersfield.

And their performances have caused Klopp to tweak his system slightly in recent weeks.

The German favoured 4-3-3 for almost the entirety of his time at Liverpool but has moved to a 4-2-3-1 recently.

With Mohamed Salah operating as the striker, it has meant a different role for Roberto Firmino – who has been asked to play just behind the Egyptian.

The Brazilian has been criticised by many Liverpool fans for his fairly underwhelming performances this season, scoring just twice in nine league matches.

However, a video has emerged showing just how effective Firmino has been during 2018/19 and it may surprise some fans.

It shows Firmino creating several chances for teammates in a slightly deeper role – something that may have gone unnoticed due to his lack of goals.
