Lionel Messi is Barcelona’s big question going into the clash with Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The only doubt remaining is who will accompany Suarez and Coutinho in the attack. The most likely is that Rafinha is picked again although Valvede has other options such as Semedo coming in with Sergi Roberto in a more advanced position instead of at right-back.
Another option would be to give Dembélé a game, the scorer of Barça’s second goal in Vallecas, although Valverde is giving him minutes as a replacement for Coutinho.
Messi is very unlikely to be a starter, still awaiting medical clearance after several weeks without playing because of a fracture in his right arm. But he wanted to travel which suggests at least he’ll be on the bench.
There is no doubt about the rest of the side: Ter Stegen will be the goalkeeper. A defence of four formed by Sergi Roberto, Piqué, Lenglet and Alba. In the midfield Rakitic, Busquets and Arthur.
