Sergio Ramos has tweeted after being accused of elbowing Viktoria Plzen’s Milan Havel

Santiago Solari made it three wins from three as Real Madrid’s interim manager against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Los Blancos, who sacked Julen Lopetegui following a difficult start to the season, cruised to a 5-0 victory to go top of Group G.

Karim Benzema scored twice, reaching 200 goals for Real in the process, with Casemiro, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos also on the scoresheet.

Solari, who stepped up from Real Madrid Castilla upon Lopetegui’s departure, heaped praise on his players at full-time.

“It’s impossible to win 5-0 away in the Champions League and not play a great game,” he said.

“I’m very happy but this was all about the players – we have some brilliant players here who have no limits.”

Yet there was one incident that he won’t have been too fond of.

Real were fortunate not to have been down to 10 men when captain Sergio Ramos escaped punishment for catching Milan Havel with an elbow.

Many thought that it was a deliberate act. No doubt Ramos’ reputation played a part in that.

But, despite Havel being left with a bloody nose, Ramos went unpunished.

The Spanish centre-back has since reacted on Twitter, apologising to Havel and wishing him a speedy recovery.

“A victory to build on and also to learn from,” Ramos wrote.

“Football always teaches you things and tonight I shouldn’t have gone into the challenge like that. Milan, it wasn’t my intention to injure you. Get well soon 💪🏼 #HalaMadrid”.
