Marco Asensio reportedly wants to reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
According to Tuttosport, Madrid ‘perceive some movement’ from Asensio towards Juve, the winger have been ‘captivated’ by the reception Ronaldo received from Juve fans last season.
The newspaper explains Alvaro Morata ‘also told him wonderful things about Turin and the Bianconeri’ during their time together at the Allianz Stadium.
Furthermore, the Spaniard would be of the opinion that he can take ‘a further leap in quality’ under Max Allegri, citing the cases of Morata and Paul Pogba.
Asensio was thought to be one of the players who would step up in the No 7’s absence, but the 22-year-old surprisingly warned ‘it’s not up to me to carry this team’ earlier in the week.
