Arsenal prove superiority over Man United with stunning statistic

Manchester United and Arsenal face off in what is bound to be a cracking fixture with Jose Mourinho and Unai Emery reigniting their rivalry from La Liga.

Arsenal are currently on a 19-match unbeaten streak whereas United have been struggling for a while, currently sitting in eight position – eight points off the top four.

Mourinho’s static style of play has been questioned on multiple occasions with even Paul Pogba suggesting the movement of attacking players in front of him has been restricted.

Unai Emery has been quite the opposite and reveling in the praise he has been receiving.

The Spaniard hasn’t been afraid to make impulsive substitutions and make big decisions – the contract situation with Danny Welbeck.

There is one stat in particular that the Sun has revealed which typifies the motivation levels for each side, even at this early stage of the season.

Emery’s well-oiled machine clearly knows the style of play in which the Spaniard wants them to play as opposed to Mourinho’s men who have each looked like a deer in the headlights recently.

The stat in question is the amount of ground covered, Emery’s players have clearly a new and improved engine as the Gunners are top of the list having covered an astonishing 1003 miles.

That’s an equivalent to running from the centre of London all the way to Florence in Italy.

United, on the other hand, are fifth from bottom covering 65 miles less (938). This should come as no surprise with various labouring performances from Romelu Lukaku, Pogba and Alexis Sanchez.

The Red Devils do have history on their side though as United haven’t lost at Old Trafford to Arsenal since 2006. Having played 10 since then, Mourinho’s side has won seven and drawn three.
