Barcelona avoided drawing Liverpool in the Champions League last 16 and it appears Ernesto Valverde is delighted.
The Catalan giants have been paired up with French outfit Lyon after topping Group B ahead of Tottenham Hotspur.
Barcelona manager Valverde has since reacted to the draw by complimenting Liverpool.
“We are pleased with the Round of 16 draw. We wanted to avoid a rival like Liverpool, the current runners-up in Europe,” he said.

However, he’s aware that Lyon ‘will not be easy’.
“Lyon will not be easy, as they have been able to compete for top-spot in the group stages at Manchester City.”
Of course, Lyon contested very well against the defending Premier League champions.
They beat City at the Etihad and drew with them at their place.
The 2017/18 Champions League finalists, meanwhile, face Bayern Munich for a spot in the quarter-finals and Jurgen Klopp has labelled the tie as ‘difficult’ yet a ‘good draw’.
“Difficult. Good draw.” Klopp said. “It was clear it would be difficult [and] they are obviously a top side.
“For me it’s nice, going to Germany. But it’s just the draw. So we have now time to prepare the game, a lot of time obviously, and hopefully we have all our players available then.
“It will be a tough one, an interesting one, and I am looking forward to it.”
Klopp added: “In the last couple of years they have dominated the German league in the best period of German football.
“Everybody was talking about Germany being in a really good moment and Bayern was dominating the league, that’s the truth. It’s nice. It’s obviously long ago that I played Bayern in a competitive game, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
How will Barcelona and Liverpool fare in their respective Champions League ties?
