Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is planning to use both, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford in the starting line-up ahead of new season in the Premier League.
The Portugese coach had the chance to see for the first time in action his 75million summer arrival Romelu Lukaku during the 5-2 pre-season friendly win against LA Galaxy
The Belgium international came off the bench in the second half and made his debut.
“He didn’t score goals but he played better than the ones who [did] score goals,” Mourinho told ESPN.
“Target man, hold the ball well, good movement, not selfish, team player, very strong holding the ball and not losing, fast on the counter attack – so happy.”
However, it was Marcus Rashford who stole the show by making an excellent display, scoring two goals.
And Mourinho is already thinking to use both, Lukaku and the teenage striker in the same starting 11.
He said: “Today Rashford was in a different team than Lukaku, but we will also try both in the same team which I think can also work.
“Last season in this period everyone was saying with me it would be difficult for Marcus to play but he was one of the top with appearances of the team.
“He played a lot in different positions which is good for his evolution and played the Europa League important matches.
“He’s learning a lot, a great professional, great attitude. Last season in a period he was not scoring goals and missing a lot of chances which was not a drama because that’s part of the evolution.
“We know he is going to score more goals than last season.” //Actuantes//
