Liverpool and Barcelona have entered talks for the transfer of Philippe Coutinho, according to Barca’s sporting director Robert Fernandez.
He has said that negotiations are taking place and a move may be completed before the transfer window shuts on August 31.
Fernandez said: “We are negotiating and that is the truth. With all respect to both clubs, logically in a negotiation you need time to reach agreements for them and for us.
“We still have days ahead and we would like to go forward with this. It is true and I recognise this, that they are two players (Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele) we feel like bringing here,” via the Mirror.
These comments come after Barcelona general manager Pep Segura said that his club is “close” to secure a deal for the Brazilian.
However, Jurgen Klopp was asked about Segura’s claims in a press conference and said that “nothing has changed”, suggesting that the club are still not willing to sell.
Barca have already completed the signing of Paulinho and are ready to spend another 200million pounds to seal deals for Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele. //Actuantes//
