Chelsea are facing FIFA investigation for the third time in eight years

FIFA are investigating Chelsea for the third time in eight years for a potential breach of regulations for youth players.

On Tuesday FIFA confirmed that they have launched an investigation after suspicions over the club’s transfer activity in signing youth players.

Chelsea were in hot water in 2009 but managed to overturn a tranfer ban over the recruitment of Gael Kakuta from Lens.

Last year they were also investigated over Bertrand Traore’s transfer, as the player was pictured playing for the Blues before he had international clearance.

A Fifa spokesman said: “As the investigation is ongoing, no further comment is possible for the time being.” //Actuantes//
